Nepal Flash Flood Could Create Hundreds of Missing Persons Cases

Nepal Flash Flood Could Create Hundreds of Missing Persons Cases

A catastrophic flash flood struck Nepal’s Rasuwa district near the Tibet border on August 26, 2026, destroying roads, bridges, settlements, and infrastructure along the Bhotekoshi River. The videos have popped up all over social media. The disaster was reportedly triggered by an avalanche of ice and rock, sending a massive surge of water and debris downstream.

The scale of the disaster is already becoming clear. Nepalese authorities have reported hundreds of people unaccounted for, including 384 tourists and trekkers, 291 of them foreign nationals. Dozens of people have also been reported dead, while rescue teams continue searching an area where communications and transportation have been severely disrupted.

For a blog devoted to missing-person cases, the most significant aspect of this catastrophe may be what happens after the immediate rescue effort. A disaster of this magnitude can potentially generate hundreds of individual missing-person cases. Some people who are currently listed as missing will undoubtedly be found alive, as the chaos in the region will cause hospitalizations and lost contact. Tragically, some may never be recovered or identified.

There is a historical comparison worth making with the December 26, 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. The Indian Ocean tsunami was vastly more destructive, killing or leaving approximately 228,000 people dead or missing across multiple countries. It also created an enormous missing-person and unidentified-victim problem that required years of forensic and identification work.

The Nepal catastrophe is nowhere near the scale of the 2004 tsunami. But the underlying problem is similar: when a sudden catastrophe strikes an area containing large numbers of residents, workers and travelers, people can disappear within minutes, records can be destroyed, communications can fail, and families can be left without reliable information.

“Flash Flood” on Missing Persons Commentary

“Flash flood” is already a tag used for three previous cases on this blog: Jonathan Eric Eiland, Jesse Glen Pinegar, and Jeannetta Ruth LaBelle.

Those cases demonstrate how a flash flood can become relevant to an individual missing-person investigation. Today's catastrophe in Nepal, however, is on an entirely different scale. Instead of one missing person or a small number of people affected by a flood, authorities are now dealing with potentially hundreds of missing individuals from a single catastrophic event.

This is an evolving disaster. The numbers reported on August 26, 2026 are not necessarily final and may change substantially as communications are restored and search teams reach affected areas.

NamUs #UP7139 - Jane Doe Found near Palm Desert, California (February 1980)

By: Shane Lambert

NamUs #UP7139 is a Jane Doe whose body was found in Palm Desert, California on February 16th, 1980 (Saturday). This Jane Doe case stood out to me because there is a decent post-mortem photo of her face associated with her NamUs profile. That should make this case solvable so long as enough people review the material associated with this Jane Doe case. From my research, this person appeared to be the victim of a flood.

Body found: Feb. 16th, 1980 at about 11 AM (Saturday)
Who found the body?: "a group of Canadian tourists" (San Bernardino County Sun/Feb 19th, 1980/A-3)
Location: Six miles south of Palm Desert, California; found in a gully, a landform created by running water, near highway 74.
Sex: Female
Race/ethnicity: White/Caucasian
Age: 25-30
How long had she been dead? (ie. PMI): 1 day
Estimated Date of Death: Would be February 15th, 1980
Height: 64"
Weight: 120 lbs
According to NamUs (paraphrased): This body was found at the bottom of a ravine about 35 feet down from a winding mountain roadway. She was fully dressed with no identification.
Hair: Short, light brown, 3-4 inches, presumably as pictured
Eyes: Hazel
Scars: "She has a well healed 5" scar on her right forearm and a 1" well healed scar on her upper right arm."
Physical characteristics: "She appeared well groomed with manicured fingernails, a recent haircut and nice clothing."
Clothing: Long sleeve tan colored velour blouse; Royal blue pants (no sizes noted); She had on tan sandals with no socks.

I could only find one Jane Doe case for Riverside County in California for a female's body that was found around February 16th, 1980. There was an article in the February 19th, 1980 edition of the San Bernardino County Sun that listed a woman who was found deceased in a gully near Palm Desert.

Presumptively, the article spoke of the Jane Doe known as #UP7139. The news report and NamUs both described an unidentified woman found in a ravine or gully, which are similar formations. She was listed amid numerous news stories associated with a flood in the area that had occurred around that time. The snipped paragraph from the newspaper likely describes this Jane Doe.

I found a news story of a nurse who had gone missing in the same flood. Her name was Inez Evans but she was described as a 44-year old, which would be well outside the estimated age of the Jane Doe. Evans' car was found but she was not found in the days after the flood. Whether she remains missing or not wasn't something I could ascertain. The clothing on the Jane Doe did not match the expected clothing for a woman commuting to a nursing job in addition to the mismatched age.

This case reminded me of cases where a pedestrian gets hit by a vehicle and dies -- without any identification on them. This Jane Doe did not get hit by a car but likely got washed away in a powerful flood -- without any identification on her.

That a group of Canadian tourists found her body suggests to me that she might have been doing something as a tourist herself. That would explain why no one local has found her. I would think that she would have been identified if she was a local to the area, because of the high-quality post-mortem photo.

Lorree Lee Dennis -- Missing Since July 1984

Details from a government source (might be paraphrased): Lorree was last seen in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 22nd, 1984. She was a passenger in a maroon 1970 Ford station wagon. There was a storm and the driver tried to cross high water near the corner of East Washington Avenue and Lamb Boulevard when their vehicle flipped over and was swept away. In journalism, this water was called "6-foot wall of water."

The driver was Stephen Jack House (which might be spelled Steven in media). He was located dead but Lorree Dennis has never been located. Journalism covering the event suggests that there was another person in the vehicle as well, however, this was later debunked. Steven Jack House and Lorree Lee Dennis were the only occupants of the vehicle.

Missing Person: Lorree Lee Dennis
Last contact: July 22nd, 1984 (Sunday)
Age when Lorree Lee Dennis disappeared: 19
Sex: Female
Height in inches: 64, which is 5'4"
Weight in pounds (lbs): 95- 100
Ethnicity: White/Caucasian
Hair color: Red/Auburn
Eye Color: Brown
Scar or distinctive characteristic: Scar on knee. Freckles. However, after all this time her remains would only be skeletal.

Commentary and Research

By: Shane Lambert

The case of Lorree Lee Dennis is one of those cases where there might not be a lot of mystery surrounding what happened to her. She went missing when the car that she was a passenger in got swept away in a surge of aggressive water, as suggested by the NamUs circumstances. The driver died and the car was located but Lorree Lee Dennis was not. That actually struck me as really odd at first.

But Lorree Lee Dennis was diminutive at 5'4" and just 100 pounds for an upper body weight. Her light body cause probably contributed to her being taken further away in the surge of water than the driver.

Has Lorree Lee Dennis been found?

At first, this was an accident that was hard to picture in my mind. The intersection that she went missing in is urban on contemporary maps and it was in Las Vegas. There are no rivers or streams near this intersection in the desert. But after researching that summer in Nevada, there was a series of floods in the state. She must have been out during one of these floods.

That said, if she disappeared in a vehicle accident involving a surge of stormwater in Las Vegas, then I don't know why the authorities would compare her to Jane Does in Virginia and Tennesssee, which they did according to the comparisons chart at NamUs.

I think with this missing person case, we should not be too fanciful. In my opinion, this individual was likely swept into irrigation, which could be defined as man-made waterways. On contemporary maps of the area, there is a man-made canal called the Las Vegas Wash. I think this wash might have existed in 1984 as a wash in the area is referenced in some journalism about this event. She could have ended up in Lake Mead according to one authority that commented on this case. Lake Mead is in both Nevada and Arizona.

The Idaho Statesman. July 24th, 1984.

I found a divorce record for this individual from just days prior to her disappearance. However, I think that is just a red herring. Jane Does found in the area around the Las Vegas Wash or Lake Mead are in play for this missing person in my opinion. Her small body could have been carried a very long way, I think.

If you are searching for original newspaper at about the time of Lorree Dennis' disappearance, then search for the driver, spelled "Steven Jack House."

Almedia Carolyn Melcher - Missing from Louisville Since 1964

Paraphrased details from government source**: Almedia Carolyn Melcher disappeared in late 1963/early 1964 shortly after beginning to reconcile with her oldest daughter. A.C. Melcher's last known contact was a call to tell her daughter she was engaged. No one has heard from Almedia since. There was a rumor that she took off with a truck driver.

Missing Person: Almedia Carolyn Melcher
Last-contact date: January 1st, 1964 (this may be a placeholder date, meaning the exact date of disappearance is not known but NamUs needed to enter some data in the empty field)
The area where the MP was last seen: Louisville, Kentucky
Link to government source: NamUs MP#87281

VITAL DETAILS

Ethnicity: Caucasian
Sex: Female
Age at time of disappearance: 43 years old
Birthdate: Almedia Carolyn Melcher was born between January 2nd, 1920, and January 1st, 1921 based on her reported age at the last date of reported contact. However, I wondered if she might have been born in 1922.
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Unknown
Scar: Unknown
Height/weight: 5-foot-8 and 125-130 pounds
BMI*: Almedia Carolyn Melcher was in the normal range for BMI.
Tattoos: Almedia Carolyn Melcher did not have any tattoos associated with her profiles.

Almedia Carolyn Melcher was last heard from in late 1963 or early 1964 when she was exactly or close to 43 years of age. This individual has now been missing for about 57 years as of the original publication date of this blog post.

This wasn't a missing person's case where it was easy to find information. I did not find any news reports of her disappearance. Furthermore, it does not seem as though she disappeared under circumstances that were inherently suspicious.

What I did find was a profile at Ancestry for an individual named Almedia Carolyn Flood. I wondered if this was the missing person's maiden name. However, I could not authenticate AC Flood and NamUs MP#87281 as being the same person.

But there were reasons to believe that they were the same person. Flood had a Louisville address associated with her profile as of 1956. NamUs MP#87281 went missing from Lousiville in later years.

Furthermore, it is stated in Flood's ancestry profile that Vernon Melcher, her husband, died in 1976.  If Flood is NamUs#87281 then the divorce (see the newspaper clipping below) might have been in absentia. The marriage between Almedia Carolyn Flood and Vernon Melcher would have created a name change that matches our missing person, Almedia Carolyn Melcher, if normal conventions were followed.

Additionally, the individual in the Ancestry profile's pictures resembles the missing person but this is a matter of opinion. Furthermore, Almedia Carolyn Flood had the following information entered for date of death:

"Death

An unknown date of death is what you would expect for a missing person. I do think that the Ancestry profile for Almedia Carolyn Flood was for the same person as NamUs #87281 but I am still seeking to authenticate this. I reached out to the person in charge of the Ancestry profile on that matter.

NamUs #MP87281
NamUs #MP87281 24 Jan 1969, Fri The Courier-Journal (Louisville, Kentucky) Newspapers.com

Yet, the NamUs description, in some ways, is not really consistent with the two profiles being of the same person. There's some marriage-date mismatching information and the year of birth would be off by one year. Perhaps, if I get an affirmative answer more work could be done on this matter.

Christine Marianne Harron - Missing in Hanover, Ontario Since 1993

Paraphrased details from government source**: On the morning of May 18th, 1993, Christine Harron stayed home from school as she was not feeling well. Around lunchtime, Christine and her mother argued about Christine returning to school for the afternoon. Her mother heard Christine leave the house at about 1:30 pm. Christine did not attend school that afternoon and has not been seen since. The investigation revealed that Christine left the house without her purse, money, or knapsack. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest and conviction of a male regarding the disappearance of Christine Harron, however, she remains missing.

VITAL DETAILS

Ethnicity: White or Caucasian
Sex: Female
Age at time of disappearance: 15 years old
Birthdate: Christine Marianne Harron was born between May 19th, 1977, and May 18th, 1978 based on her reported age at the last date of reported contact.
Hair: Brown, long
Eyes: Blue
Scar: None known
Height/weight: 5'3" and 110 pounds
BMI*: Christine Marianne Harron was in the normal range for BMI.
Tattoos: Christine Marianne Harron had no tattoos associated with her profile.

Christine Marianne Harron was last heard from on May 18th, 1993 when she was 15 years of age. This individual has now been missing for about 32 years as of early 2025. However, her disappearance is not as clouded in mystery as many other disappearances.

A man named Anthony Edward Ringel pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Harron's case. According to a National Post article from October 2016, he abducted, raped, and murdered the teenage girl before leaving her dead near the Saugeen River. When this river flooded in what I think was 1994 (as communicated by the NP article), the resulting currents and water flow may have moved her body.

Taking everything at face value, this isn't a case that amateurs will be able to help with much. People who go missing in water are often missing until a chance event of a geological nature or even real-estate developmental reveals them. Missing people in flooded areas are often buried underneath a lot of sediment.

I would say that amateurs probably will not find a clue in this case. However, a news report in the area of human remains being found in association with the Saugeen River or even Lake Huron would be interesting. That said, people who are absolutely known to have fallen into a river often stay missing for decades and decades.

Christine's clothing could be cross-referenced against any Jane Does in the area. She may have had the following articles when she disappeared: a light-blue denim jacket, blue denim pants, black running shoes, and plastic glasses that were brown and had tape.

One interesting takeaway from this case is that the teen disappeared after an argument with her mother. Perhaps, that fueled the idea that Christine had been a runaway. But based on the conviction, it's clear that she met up with a clandestine individual.

There were many alleged sightings of Christine, all of which would be false if the words of Ringel were to be trusted. Given that he received a lengthy sentence for his admissions, it doesn't make sense that he's lying. But that many people reported seeing her even though she is conclusively dead is a point that can be taken away from this case. Unfortunately, sightings of missing people can be pretty frivolous.

That does bring to mind a lot of cases involving missing people, like Paula Jean Welden. Sightings of missing people that are ambiguous should be taken with a big grain of salt in my view, but never discounted.

Thank you for reading. If have any information about this case, consider contacting the authorities.

Timeline of Jesse Glen Pinegar’s Last Known Moments

Jesse Glen Pinegar, a missing person, was last heard from on March 24th, 2008 when he was 22 years old. This individual was missing for about 13 years as of the original publication date of this blog post. However, as of 2025, he has been missing for 17 years.

This individual was from Orem, Utah. He was reported missing on April 13th, 2008. That was 20 days after he made a final phone call to his family advising that he was going hiking.

One thing that I noticed while researching this case was that NamUs and CharleyProject gave different heights for the individual. NamUs has him at 5'7" at the taller range and CharleyProject had him at 6'2".

I listed the entire range and decided not to include BMI in this case. Meanwhile, a news source said he was 6'1" so it seems no one knows his exact height.

Of course, if he is found as a John Doe, then having his height correct could definitely help ahead of DNA testing (which can take a very long time to conduct).

02 May 2008, Fri The Honolulu Advertiser (Honolulu, Hawaii) Newspapers.com

This individual appeared to be an avid hiker and nature enthusiast. In his last contact, he indicated that he was going to take "one last hike" before he planned to return to Utah.

That phrase is quoted from NamUs and it's unclear if he used the term verbatim. There are dark undertones with the use of the statement, hinting at suicide in respect to the fact that he has now been unaccounted for since 2008. However, it could also be that he had grandiose plans for his last hike as well, which may have included greater risks as he knew he might not be in the area again.

He is thought to have had his wallet, his backpack, and his cell phone with him during this last hike. Other items he owned were found at a campsite by another hiker. Jesse had been in Hawaii since January 2008.

Exploring the Kalalau Trail: Jesse’s Last Hike

The sources on this missing person case all stated that his campsite was five miles from a trailhead. I believe that trailhead was the Kalalau Trail.

This trail is one that you can 'drop down' on using Google Maps. When I look at the five-mile point, it seems that it was very close to Hanakoa Stream. I did find a newspaper article that said this stream was the five-mile point on the trail. A stream would certainly be a strategic spot to set up camp.

Accordingly, I wondered if this stream was Jesse Pinegar's source of freshwater as he camped. If so, then it should be noted that this stream is known for flash flooding and disappearing people.

Take a moment to read the articles snipped below as they highlight how dangerous this area is.

24 Jan 1980, Thu The Honolulu Advertiser (Honolulu, Hawaii) Newspapers.com

10 Aug 2014, Sun Honolulu Star-Advertiser (Honolulu, Hawaii) Newspapers.com

There are a lot of missing hikers in the world or missing people that were associated with hiking trails in the events that preceded their disappearances. Perhaps the most famous missing hiker is Paula Jean Welden, missing since 1945 from Bennington, Vermont, and well-covered in this blog.

My understanding of the Jesse Pinegar case was that he was pretty familiar with the area despite the fact that he was from out of state. That's the impression that I got from reading about his case. I think the fact that he set up camp indicates that he was in the area for at least a short time.

Furthermore, he said in his last phone call that he was going for "one last hike." That suggests that he had taken multiple, if not numerous, hikes already in the area. I would say that the phrase has an ominous characteristic as well. It does strike me as strange that he should survive all of his previous hikes before disappearing on what he said would be his last.

The Dangers of Hiking Alone on the Kalalau Trail

But I decided to focus on the dangerous trail in this case. My research into the Kalalau Trail found that there are cases of missing people on it from time to time. However, in a couple of cases I looked at, the people were found. Hiking is never perfectly safe and hiking alone is a no-no according to hiking safety manuals.

05 Sep 2020, Sat The Garden Island (Lihue, Hawaii) Newspapers.com

My former blog is a hiking blog and I will say this: experienced hikers can suffer mishaps. That's especially the case for someone hiking alone as Jesse seems to have been. But, if we throw out suicide, my guess is that it wasn't hiking trails that disappeared Jesse but the ocean.

Could Rogue Waves Explain Jesse Pinegar’s Disappearance?

In my research of the area where he went missing, I understood that the beaches had instances of rogue waves. These kinds of waves are not tidal waves. However, they can claim people from beaches or rocks. They are random in the sense that their occurrences cannot really be predicted. If there are rogue waves known to affect the region, then it stands to reason that there can also be large waves.

Kami Vollendroff is an individual that's missing from Oregon whose case is covered in this blog. She and her friend were thought to have been claimed by a large wave as they walked beachside. It could happen to anyone that walks along the ocean side.

To investigate the chance that a large wave or rogue wave might have claimed Jesse, we do need to presume that his final hike before heading back to Utah would have been to the beach. I can think of no way of proving that.

However, Utah, his home, is inland and mountainous. Take it or leave it, but I think he's more likely to take one last look at the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii before heading back to Orem than do a mountain trail.

Why the Kalalau Trail Remains a Dangerous Mystery

I had another look at this case in March 2025. There had been another disappearance in the area, one that affected Lauren M. Cameron, a 32-year-old woman from Anchorage, Alaska.

She was at Hanakāpīʻai Beach on the Kalalau Trail in Kauai, Hawaii, and her disappearance serves to underline the enduring danger of the greater area.

On December 11th, 2024, around 3:00 PM, Kauai officials were alerted to a swimmer in distress at Hanakāpīʻai Beach, just two miles from the Kē‘ē Beach trailhead. Reports suggest Cameron entered the water, possibly to rinse off after a hike

But this was only to be swept away by powerful currents. That she was hiking and ended up lost to the ocean is a stark similarity to the theories that Pinegar, who was a hiker in the area, may have been claimed by the ocean.

Her boyfriend tossed a flotation device in a futile attempt to save her, and she was last seen in a blue bikini, clinging to rocks 100 yards west of the beach before vanishing into the surf. Unlike Pinegar, whose campsite was found abandoned with belongings intact, Cameron’s disappearance unfolded in real-time near the water, yet both cases point to the trail’s lethal mix of isolation and unpredictable coastal hazards.

Furthermore, the terms "Kalalau Trail" and "rogue wave" produced some hits in Newspaper.com's archive. Notably, a rogue wave made news in 2020 along the trail with people displaced due to its force. I think Jesse might have been affected by a large wave in 2008, even if it wasn't a rogue wave.

02 Jan 2020, Thu The Garden Island (Lihue, Hawaii) Newspapers.com

Furthermore, the Kalalau Trail, in my research, struck me as more dangerous than most trails. The area has steep and unstable surfaces that seem to lead to hazards below. In fact, this trail was named as a top-ten trail for danger in 2008 by Backpacker Magazine. That's the same year that Jesse went missing. It really seems that there are a dozen ways to meet danger on the Kalalau Trail. I recommend clicking and reading the snipped article below.

22 Jun 2014, Sun Honolulu Star-Advertiser (Honolulu, Hawaii) Newspapers.com

If Jesse was lost to the water, then the chances of finding him are remote. If he's in the forest, then it stands to reason that he'll eventually be found. However, one look at the following Youtube video and you will get a great idea of just how dangerous this trail is for hikers.

One source I found said that he had previously fractured his ankle and arm. Honestly, I don't like the source that much but it appeared to have copied and pasted a previous version of Jesse's NamUs profile. Bone fractures are important when comparing missing people to unidentified remains so they are worth noting.

Tattoos: Jonathan Eric Eiland did not have any tattoos associated with his profiles. If you know that the missing person did have tattoos, then please post a remark at the end of this blog post on the matter.

Jonathan Eric Eiland was last heard from on May 31st, 2013 when he was 45 years of age. This individual has now been missing for 8 years as of the original publication date of this blog post.

What stands out with this case is that this individual was homeless at the time of his disappearance. Of course, it would be surprising if there was much media coverage affiliated with his disappearance due to this. Nothing really came up when I searched his name on newspapers.com conjoined with "missing."

Also, at the time of his disappearance, he was thought to be sleeping under a bridge. That will invoke questions of personal safety and health.

The NamUs description says that the bridge he used for shelter was near the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. It also says that it was on 28th street, however, that may be "W. 28th Street." There is a waterway called Coleman Creek in this area and a small bridge at that point. I wondered if the missing person was using that exact bridge for shelter as I did not find any other ones in the area.

The description at CharleyProject indicates that Eiland's friend was found deceased after drowning. I found a news-media source online that reported on this event. There were reports of flash floods, tornado warnings, and missing people associated with Little Rock in early June of 2013.

Given that Eiland's friend may have been swept away in a flood, as one possible explanation for his drowning, it could be that Eiland suffered the same fate but as of yet simply has not been found. When people disappear in water, they can stay disappeared for very long times.

I found the following video on Twitter with user Laura Ruhl (@ScienceRuhls). The video shows Coleman Creek at the same bridge that I think Eiland used for shelter (I did a multi-point inspection, the pedestrian walkway is the same as are the street signs). Importantly, the flood that is depicted is not from the time frame when Eiland disappeared. However, I include the video because I think the raging water is indicative of what likely happened in 2013. You can clearly see how someone who was sleeping under the bridge would have been in grave danger of being washed away. Flash floods are floods that come without much warning

Below is a report out of Little Rock that shows there were flash floods in the state at about the time that Eiland was last heard from. Certainly, we can see how someone who sleeps under a bridge is at increased risk of dying in such weather-related events.

The microregion looks slightly forested and there are some thick bushes when I look on Google Maps. Due to Eiland's homelessness, it's likely that there wasn't exactly a large search party for him. However, if he did wash away in a strong current, he may have traveled away from this bridge at least a little ways. The flow of the water is south toward Fourche Creek, which only looks about a mile away. John Does found in this area should be cross-referenced against Eiland's case details.

I did a search on NamUs among the unidentified decedents and did not find that there were many in Arkansas for the time frame in question. However, the database gets updated all the time so readers can do their own searches.

Regardless of whether Eiland is found, one point that should be taken away from this case is that homeless people that sleep near rivers or creeks are in increased danger during flooding. It might be a clue in other similar missing person cases, where a missing person is known to seek similar shelter as the kind Eiland sought. In such cases, look for reports of flooding in the region.

Missing Person: Ann Bernadette Fulton, also went by "Bea" which may be derived from her middle name

Last seen or contact date: April 23, 1971 (Tuesday)

Where last seen: Bridgewater, New Jersey

Ann Bernadette Fulton was last seen in Bridgewater, New Jersey on April 23rd, 1971 but she was not reported missing until June 10th of that year (her husband reported her missing).

NamUs # and Link: #MP19657

Ethnicity/Race: White

Sex: Female

I was not able to find information on her case using newspaper databases. But I have some tips for those working on this case to build off of.

If you are looking in newspaper databases, I advise to use "Bea Fulton" as the search term, Bea being Ann's nickname. You could also try derivatives of Ann, like "Anne," "Anna," or even "Annette." I did find one hit using "Bea Fulton" but the newspaper article did not contain much information. In fact, it was from before the time of her disappearance.

I can't even be absolutely certain that this "Bea Fulton" is the same person and that does create the possibility of a fruitless tangent. However, that the "Bea Fulton" hit was in Bridgewater is something I found interesting.

Furthermore, my research aligned with someone else's independent research. I post a pertinent newspaper clipping below, which includes the street name that she resided on, that being "Frohlin Drive." This street name became a focal point of my research. The entire article was about school funding.

One strange detail in the common description of this case is that she was reported missing six weeks after her last-seen date. That's a large gap unless she had a history of running off. Take it or leave it but I don't really think she was the run-off type.

A "Kip Fulton," born in 1953 (I think), might be the name of an individual that she lived with but I'm not really sure. I found that this person was in legal trouble in the 1970s for minor offenses having to do with marijuana but that a same-named individual also was indicted for break-ins. I think this person was her son.

The reason I connect this individual to Bea Fulton is that both have an address associated with "Frohlin Drive" by two newspaper articles. Furthermore, Bea Fulton's maiden name appeared to be "Kania." I see this name in the family tree of Kip Fulton, who died in 1991. His grandparents, according to his family tree at Ancestry.com, were John and Margaret Kania. My thinking is that these were also Bea Fulton's parents. Again, these 'findings' might actually be fruitless tangents but could still be looked at to try and find details on this case.

When I consulted websleuths, I found that a user named "alb1on" felt "fairly sure" that her maiden name was Ann Bernadette Kania based on the user's research at ancestry.com (link good as December 24th, 2020). This research was in line with what I found in newspaper articles. If true, Bea's husband would be named Thomas K Fulton and they would have four children as of Jan 29, 1965 (see clippings below). I did find many newspaper clippings where a Thomas K Fulton was mentioned in association with Frohlin Drive which started to brings things together. Their street address is in one of the clippings below.

I think websleuths or amateurs working on this case simply need to expand the details of the disappearance. Individuals that knew Bea are one source for doing this.

Lastly, I found that the Frohlin Drive area was where there were a fair amount of reports of both erosion and flooding in the late 1960s and early 1970s but no evidence of a flood at the time of her disappearance.
