Jane Doe Found in Baltimore, Maryland -- NamUs #UP76384

A Jane Doe was found in Baltimore, Maryland on November 30th, 2020. Her unidentified person's case was entered into NamUs on December 11th, 2020. In this case, we are talking about the following vitals:

• Black, African-American
• Female
• Age -- too hard to estimate based on the state of the remains
• Height and weight -- too hard to estimate based on the state of the remains
• Her remains are not recognizable, meaning that no one would really look at these remains and connect them to an individual
• She had hair extensions that appeared "red/purple/orange" in color

For a location, NamUs offered the Baltimore-area zip code of 21230 and mentioned that the remains were found at the end of a dead-end street. The clothing is where we find the best information:

"Gray leggings White Sports bra with several holes on the upper part of the bra Gray Marvels Iron Man gray t-shirt with several holes on the upper part of the t-shirt Black and red braided hair extensions which are believed to be artificial hair extensions."

The location of the body is interesting. For me, it speaks to a body dump where whoever put it there wanted an area of seclusion. A dead-end street is like that because such streets do not attract through traffic. A look at the area using Google Maps shows that Petapsco River creates a lot of dead-end streets in the area.

I think that anyone focusing on this case should focus on missing people that were last known to have clothing like the missing individual's. Furthermore, the artificial hair might be a way to winnow down the thousands of black females that will no doubt be missing in the USA at any given time.

The t-shirt that is described would be one that depicts a comic-book character. The following picture is NOT one that I know to be of the Jane Doe's. However, it sounds like the type of shirt she was wearing (ie. other shirts might match the description too). Below, is an example of a grey Marvel's Iron Man t-shirt.

The kind of individual that would be likely to be wearing such a shirt would be an adolescent or young adult, in my opinion. That hardly rules out other age groups but my focus would be on black girls and women aged 12 to 29 as a core group.

The closest match on a missing person's case that I found when looking at NamUs would be Desiree Boyd. She is NamUs #MP73818. What matches is the grey leggings that the Jane Doe was known to be wearing. Desiree was last seen wearing grey leggings. The Jane Doe and Desiree have a grey shirt in common too.

NamUs Mising Persons -- Five Unidentified from Hartford Circus Fire 1944

The Hartford Circus Fire was a fire disaster that occurred during the WWII years when, in July of 1944, a small fire broke out at a live circus show. The tent that housed the circus had a coating on it that was meant to waterproof it. One side effect of that was that the tent was hardly fire retardant. In fact, it was a very flammable material as were many of the fixtures used to house the show.

What resulted when a small fire broke out, which may have been due to arson or from a discarded cigarette, was a quickly spreading fire that led to immediate panic among thousands of attendees and performers. Most of these attendees escaped to safety but a combination of chaos, trampling, asphyxiation from smoke inhalation, and burning to death killed 167 people and injured hundreds and hundreds more. The headline below, which is taken from journalism from the day after the fire, states 139 were dead but this was just the preliminary number. The number increased to 167.

Not all of the victims who died in this tragedy were identified. In fact, there was a famous missing person case that resulted from this fire. A young girl, who was trampled to death in the panic, went unnamed for several decades. Once known as Little Miss 1565, she was believed to have been Eleanor Emily Cook.
