Lisa Marie Knight, a 29-year-old mother from Ossineke, Michigan, vanished on June 8th, 2012. She was last seen at her ex-husband Lloyd Frey’s home around 10:30 p.m.

NamUs states she was last seen at a friend’s house, possibly referring to Frey as a friend or reflecting confusion with a phone call she made that night. She called a friend, Laurel Schultz. During this phone call, Lisa sounded upset and requested a pickup. 

Described as a vibrant, artistic “wild child” who loved horses, Lisa struggled with drug addiction but was reportedly turning her life around, with a new job and plans for a family barbecue. Her distinctive features include facial piercings and tattoos, such as a skull with “LLOYD” on her chest.

This was a case where the missing person was originally thought to be missing voluntarily. But the case has been treated as a possible homicide since 2013, though no charges have been filed. Despite extensive searches and community efforts, including a 2012 rally, Lisa’s fate remains unknown, leaving her children and family without closure.

There is ample coverage of this case online. In a newspaper article from the Detroit Free Press on June 9th, 2019, it was stated that she was likely dead.

Richard Kalani Vierra was last heard from on July 5th, 2014 when he was 15 years of age. I am sure I found his inactive Facebook account where there are a lot of pictures of him. In my opinion, the NamUs photo isn't a good one. He looked like a very athletic teenager that was successful for his age group in martial arts. This individual has now been missing for about 7 years as of the original publication date of this blog post.

What stands out with this case is the phone call that the mother made to her son. He apparently hiked to a mountain summit and phoned to say he was on his way back home. This was the last contact from the missing minor. When she called him again at 12:15pm then the call went to voicemail.

It's possible, even probable, that he suffered a hiking accident in the 47 minutes between the two calls. If he did, then his location at the time of the first phone call and his hiking speed create the search area. This was not an easy or safe hike according to my research.

I saw a video that filmed a missing person poster of him. It said he was hiking the Kaimaile Mountain trail and may have used Maiu'u Road Entrance. I think this would be referring to the Kamaileunu Ridge Hike and that his entry point to the trail would have been at the following Google Map coordinates: 21.46178191468302, -158.1992668024058.

The trail is rated as difficult at AllTrails.com. One reviewer at the site had this to say:

We found that it went way off to the left, but got very dangerous being over the edge of a cliff without places to hold on. We decided it wasn't worth it and turned back. The way back was difficult finding proper foot placement and not slipping on the steep, sandy sections. It took us about 3 hours and 15 minutes to get up to 1000 feet and back. Definitely a fun challenge, not sure if we'd do it again. -- Taylor Key, writing in September 2020

Furthermore, this trail has made the news before because of hikers falling. The following newspaper article references the trail, a near-fatal accident that occurred on it in 2003, and crumbling rock as a hazard.

The man that fell had his fall broken by trees and so he was able to guide search-and-rescue to his whereabouts with his cellular phone. The impression I got in reading the article below is that the man might have been difficult to find without him being able to provide verbal guidance by cellular. It would be interesting if this dangerous area was the same area that Richard was in when he went missing. 

Minimally, I think the case in the article below should be a case study for trying to find Richard as it may highlight a particularly dangerous spot where someone who falls may end up concealed. This case may call for a double skill-set of an expert hiker that's familiar with the trail who also is skilled at operating drones with cameras.

Susan Redding's "last-seen" date is not clear. Some sources say she went missing on her birthday in 1975, however, her NamUs profile specifies the last contact of 1981. 

An individual who identified as Susan's sister contacted me on August 24th, 2021. She said that Susan was last seen on April 8th, 1975 in Decatur, Georgia. The sister of Susan said that Susan was going to the dry cleaners. She was in the company of an older white man. There was, according to Susan's sister, some kind of dispute between this man and one of Susan's brothers because of the age gap between Susan and the man. Susan may have been a prostitute at this point in her life, according to the sister. She had recently gone through some changes in terms of her personal style.

NAMUS says Susan may have been heard from in the mid-1980's via a phone call (but not after 1987). The date she was last seen and the date she was last heard from can certainly be different. However, this is a case where the details are not really ironed out. 

Susan's sister said that the phone call was placed to the grandmother's home shortly after the grandmother's death. The death of the grandmother occurred in October 1982 and the phone call would have been in the days afterward. The call was answered by a now-deceased aunt. According to the sister, Susan may have hung up the phone when she heard the mother's voice in the background. Susan appeared to be calling to discuss the death of her grandmother but Susan was estranged from her mother and that's a possible explanation as to the abrupt phone call ending. 

Nonetheless, that Susan learned of the grandmother's death suggests that she was in the verbal grapevine of a family member still as there wasn't social media back in the 1980s or even Internet. When someone died, you usually learned from a family member or the newspaper obituaries with the former being more likely, in my opinion. What this case sounds like, in my opinion, is a voluntary disappearance that has resulted in an unclear fate and there are family members who would like answers.

What stands out with this case, is the fact that she often wore a wig. If you are looking among the Jane Doe databases for this missing person, then any Jane Doe that was found with a wig can be cross-referenced against Susan's profile. That would involve looking at the date of death versus Susan's date of disappearance, her height, and other considerations.

The missing person did not have any articles or items associated with her missing person's reports, at least of the ones that I consulted. That probably has something to do with the fact that her missing-date details are not very clear at all.

I was not able to find a missing person journalist article at Newspapers.com. Websleuths looking at this missing person could do their own search to see if they can locate one. Furthermore, it would help to know this missing person's middle name as there are a lot of other people named Susan Redding, even with a similar birth year.

He dropped a friend off near that location and was suppose to pick-up his girlfriend when she got off work at 7:30PM. Fabian never showed up at his girlfriend's work and has not been seen or heard from since.

At the time of his disappearance, Fabian was driving a brown Datsun 280ZX. In the early morning hours of August 31, 1987, a patrol officer located Fabian's vehicle in the parking lot of Crossroads Mall near 30th St. & Walnut in Boulder, Colorado.

Fabian Del Rosario, a missing person, was last heard from on August 28th, 1987 when he was 20 years old. He dropped his girlfriend off where she worked at about 3pm that day, phoned her at 6pm, but failed to pick her up at 7:30pm. That phone call was the last communication from Fabian while the 3pm drop-off time was the last sighting. 

This individual has now been missing for 34 years as of the original publication date of this blog post. Looking at his profile, there is not a lot to go on when it comes to distinctive characteristics. However, this appears to be a case that the authorities are very interested in solving.

Del Rosario, at the time of writing, had been excluded as a match to 26 John Does in the NamUs database of unidentified decedents. That is a high number of match attempts. I noted that 19 of these attempted matches were of John Does that were found in the state of Virginia. I wondered why such a high number of matches were attempted for that state when this missing person was last seen in Colorado. Colorado and Virginia are not close to one another. I've half-assumed that the authorities may have reason to believe that he somehow ended up in Virginia but found nothing on that matter in the sparse journalistic coverage.

What stands out with this case, is the evidence in Fabian's found vehicle that suggests that he was injured or even murdered. The NamUs description indicates that his vehicle was found on August 31st, 1987 in the parking lot of a shopping center.

What the NamUs description doesn't mention is what was stated in one of only two newspapers article I found that covered this disappearance. Del Rosario's family was of the Miami area and The Miami News reported on September 8th, 1987 that the car was "blood-stained":

The missing person did not have any articles or items associated with his missing person's reports. However, from the article above we can see that he is at least "believed to have been wearing a white dress shirt, tan shorts, white tennis shoes and white socks." These are items that can be searched for in the NamUs database of John Does. You would also want to cross-reference any potential matches with other case details.

The article above, from September 10th, 1987, shows that the authorities questioned Del Rosario's girlfriend on the matter of drugs being involved. According to CharleyProject, they had reason to believe that they were:

Darla Lee Miller was last heard from on June 1, 1996, when she was 33 years of age. She has now been missing for 25 years as of the original publication date of this blog post. At the time of this publication, the missing person would be 58 years old.

When I look over the case information, I do see a slight contradiction in the information. According to the NamUs description, she was last seen in the summer of 1996. However, her last-seen date is June 1st, 1996. Technically, June 1st would still be in the spring, in fact, that's not even getting too technical as the start of June is a full three weeks before the start of summer.

Often, when the date of someone's disappearance isn't known, NamUs will just enter the first of the month that they disappeared. It's not really clear from the NamUs account when this individual was last seen.

Also, at the time of her disappearance, she evidently had a "young son." When I plugged Darla Lee Miller into Ancestry's index of public records, I was able to find some addresses for her. However, none of the addresses had date ranges associated with them. Furthermore, some of the addresses were associated with the area that she was last seen in. These were likely addresses that she used before she disappeared. I was sure I was looking at the right Darla Lee Miller because of birthdate matches in the records. 

A good research angle on this case is just to find out if her son is now an adult and see what he can contribute to the details of this case. That could be done by searching her former addresses to see if her son's name appears anywhere. I think, I was able to find a brother, however, I wasn't able to find a way to contact him online. I've kept addresses and names in my notes and may look further.

Kay Vernice Deller remains missing as of the time of publication. When Kay disappeared, she was of the Las Vegas, Nevada area.

What stands out with this case, is that the individual had a distinctive scar on her right leg from her upper thigh to her knee. Other details include that she was last heard from via telephone. It may be that this last-contact date was via this telephone call. It would be interesting to know what the details of this conversation were. 

Kay was a diminutive individual at 5'3" and just 80 to 85 pounds. If skeletal remains were found, it's possible that they may be mistaken as a child's or an adolescent's.

Kay Vernice Deller had a strange alias at NamUs. It was "Kay Bernice Deller." Bernice is a more common name than Verdice in my opinion. Websleuths or amateurs working on this case will need to be aware of both middle names. I will note that "B" and "V" are adjacent on standard keyboards and I do wonder if the potential for a keystroking error may be factoring into this.

I did find a same-named individual with links to the Las Vegas area who was born December 15th, 1960. This individual was "Kay V Deller" at Ancestry.com. I couldn't absolutely authenticate them to be the same person, however, the birthdate fits the range for the MP based on her age at the time of her disappearance. Also, the person at Ancestry had a Las Vegas address. It's not clear what exactly this means but anyone working on this case further look into it. 

If this person has been found, then we would want to remove her profile from NamUs so as to make the process of finding missing people more efficient. That said, her NamUs page was looked at recently as I noted a last-modified date from August 24th, 2020 -- meaning someone looked at the age at that time.
