Teresa Kay Davis was last heard from on November 1st, 1973 when she was 18 years of age. This individual has now been missing for 48 years as of the original publication date of this blog post.

What stands out with this case is that the missing person left many of her possessions behind. It would be interesting to know what she took, however. For instance, if she left with her vitals, like her bank card, her ID, and such important documents then it would be a good sign that this was a voluntary disappearance.

One troublesome detail was that the front door was left open. This suggests many things, like someone that left in a rush. There is something a little odd with this detail because normally people want to at least close a door when they leave a house. Was it a gesture? Was she abducted and the abductor didn't care to close the door? Unfortunately, it's not enough to start any kind of reasonable conjecture with.

The letter and the link to Anchorage is interesting too. I wondered if it was authenticated to be of Teresa's handwriting or work.

Given the missing person's age at the time of her disappearance, there is a chance that she assumed a different last name through marriage at some point. I did a search for all people named "Teresa Kay" and left the last name blank at Ancestry to see what turned up for hits in Alaska. There were some individuals there but I wasn't able to authenticate any of them as being of the missing person. I do think that Websleuths or amateurs can possibly open this angle up.
