Lisa Marie Beste was last seen on Tuesday, January 7th, 1992, in her home. A friend, who was a male, visited her on the 4300 Block of Seibert Avenue. After he left, she was not seen again with her 6-year-old son arriving home from kindergarten about an hour later.
The first journalism I found on the case was on January 11th, 1992 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The friend that visited her was referred to with the masculin pronoun, she was described as living with her boyfriend, and it's stated that her purse was also missing. Furthermore, she had a bunch of Christmas presents in her car that she planned to return to Kmart but the car did not leave her home.
The case appeared to be treated as a suspicious disappearance from the early going.
There was not a lot of journalism on this case following the original article above. Furthermore, this individual did not have a large presence in Ancestry.

Active Serial Killer in the Area in the Early 1990s
Gary Muehlberg, the "Package Killer," is a compelling suspect for Lisa Marie Beste's 1992 disappearance in Affton, Missouri, due to several overlapping factors.
Active in St. Louis County from 1990–1993, Muehlberg targeted women, strangling or smothering them and disposing of their bodies in "packages" like trash cans or mattresses along roadsides.
His confirmed victims were four women aged 18–40, killed in 1990–1991. This would place his spree precisely around Beste’s January 7th, 1992, disappearance.
Affton, in St. Louis County, lies within Muehberg's operational area.
Beste, a 24-year-old white woman, broadly fits the age and gender of his known victims, though no evidence confirms she was a sex worker, unlike his typical targets.
Despite the fact that Beste was not known to be a prostitute, her disappearance resembles some of Muehlberg's very early crimes. In the 1970s, he attacked two women in their homes, supporting the notion that he could have attacked Beste in her home.

He gained access to one woman's phone simply by asking to use the telephone.
Furthermore, he was a thief, which would explain Beste's missing purse. I think Muehlberg is someone that should be looked at in relation to Beste's disappearance, especially since Beste claimed to have killed an unfound woman.
